Every few years, my family has a family reunion. Each cycle falls to one of the branches of my great-grandparents children. This year, it fell to my grandmother’s family to plan and organize.
I’ve been racking my brain trying to think of something that we can do that would be a unique takeaway for the rest of the family. Every family reunion ever has at least once done t-shirts, and well, frankly, I feel like that’s a little cliche. I thought we could build a really great family tree website – and I will probably do this with different branches of the family – but that wouldn’t really be a takeaway.
Then I ran across the idea of tile coasters. I’ve seen many variations, but this tutorial seemed to be the easiest to follow. I was thinking about a picture with the five original siblings for everyone. I’m not sure I’m up for a set of four for 30 people, but certainly one tile would be cool. Wouldn’t it?
Make some for yourself. Make some for the grandparents. These fun coasters sit on my coffee table and make me smile whenever I glance at them. These personalized cuties, give the average ol’ coaster a run for his money!
