Finally, all my childhood dreams have come true!

When I was a little kid, mom gave us Cheerios or Rice Crispies for breakfast cereal (and we would all sit around the breakfast table trying to figure out what the snap crackle pop was trying to say to us). As we got older, she got us those packs of small cereal boxes so that we were empowered to make our own breakfast on Saturday mornings without having to wake up her or dad when we got hungry.

But the one thing we could never have was cookies for breakfast. When I became a pseudo-parent (our name for step-parent without marriage), I thought I should read all the cereal box labels to see which ones I could say yes to if the girl was with me in the grocery store and was trying to pull one over on me because she knew I was a pushover for her awesome smile. And guess what I found, Cookie Crisps, not the worst cereal ever; and neither are the chocolately cereals like Krave or chocolate cheerios. Since going gluten free, I’ve become a Chocolate Chex girl. My cereal repertoire expanded instantly!

But what I really really really want is to be able to have cookies for breakfast – every since I was a little girl, my dream has been to eat cookies with a glass of milk for breakfast. I know, I know…nothing is stopping me…except my mom’s voice telling me – there’s too much sugar in cookies for you to have them in the morning. I’ve come close, I have; but I can never actually do it. Before I have one cookie, I have to have some thing else that’s better for me first.

And then, I found the article below. Ten recipes for cookies that will start your morning off right! Whoo Hoo! I can finally argue with the mom voice in my head, because the cookie I might have for breakfast…its healthy! its better for me than a bowl of cereal! and look, mom,  I promise to even drink a glass of milk with it so I get my calcium!

If you share Cookie Monster’s addiction, you’re going to be pretty excited about this. Cookies that are okay for breakfast? That’s right. These recipes are not only delicious, they’re also packed with protein, fiber and healthy fats. A little boost of fun and energy for your morning routine. Keep a stash in the freezer for hectic mornings. Then just pop a couple into your bag as you walk out the door.
