This is a cool new site I just found today by Beth, who is a “yoga-obsessed graphic designer/illustrator living in Southern California.” Cool, right? She’s also a ‘conscientious omnivore” and gluten-free.

What does all that mean? Well, if nothing else, her site is beautiful, her recipes are incredibly healthy and for those of you who eat mostly or totally gluten-free, this is a good reference for gluten-free and vegan recipe ideas.

Here is a tutorial for how to make Vanilla Extract. As soon as I saw it, I knew I’d be making a batch of this for holiday gifts. Can’t you just see some made with bourbon to be used in bourbon balls or rum flavored vanilla extract for rum cake? I can’t wait to show up to the holidays with batches of this for everyone. And, for those of you with gluten challenges, she even has a tip for making this gluten-free.

Making homemade vanilla extract is so easy. You literally need just two ingredients, alcohol and vanilla beans and just a few minutes of prep time. You do need a little patience while the flavor of the vanilla beans is extracted, which takes several weeks. But, it is all more than worth it when you end up with the tastiest, most incredible flavor – perfect for all of your baking needs.
